Hey team ๐ย I applied for the open Design Manager/Senior Product Designer – Donor experienceย position. Here’s why I’d be a good fit:
โ 7+ years of experience as a product designer
โ Most recently spent the last couple of years shipping a ton of real product experiences to drive retention and growth, boosting NRR by 9% YoY
โ Led the redesign for the GEICO mobile app at my last gig, with a focus on driving user adoption for core actions (like filing claims + enrolling in autopay).
โ Launchgood stan since day one – check the profile!!! Have contributed to hundreds of campaigns, way back when LG did less than a millie per year in donations (ok I legit just logged in to check – 2014! Supported my first campaign)
โ Lover of excessive parentheses usage (in case that’s a problem) (hope not!!!)
Caveat: I’ll come right out and say that I don’t have official management experience. But!! I feel strongly about mentoring and providing guidance for the next generation of designers, mostly because I’ve had the benefit of incredible mentors. While I don’t have official experience, I have:
โ Spent the last 2 years meeting weekly with our Junior/Associate level designers for 1-1s to provide guidance, feedback, teaching data analytics tools, and encouraging strong product sense.
โ Taken every request for a call, request for feedback, and coffee chat that I get through Linkedin from women trying to break into tech/looking to grow their careers.
โ Lead our weekly design critique calls – I’m always sure to present my own work, take feedback, apply it and update the team in slack to set the standard first and create psychological safety for everyone on the team.
